Good morning, all. The only big news this week is that I got the Plum Street Samplers Scarecrow finished and Finishing Finished, too.
It's cute. And will be nice in the late summer, early fall. There's rather a decorating 'gap' there between the Fourth of July and Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas where there's really not a holiday to have as a 'theme'.
Not much knitting this week. There's still about 10 rounds to the start of the toes on Sock #2 yet to do.
And I got just a little bit more done on the hexi fill in for "It was the 80s" . And more neutrals are prepped.
The finish on the Plum Street piece means that Rotation #2 for 2018 is finished. Time to reboot with rotation #3. That means that next week you will see Dutch Beauty again for the first time in a couple of months. Just to refresh your memory, here's where I'll pick back up:
Looking at the upcoming work week, it's going to be another week of focusing on the office instead of the 'studio' (aka the dining room). Hopefully the rest of the 'Slow Sunday Stitching Gang' will have a better crafting week!

The scarecrow ccs is very pretty, perfect for the early fall time of year. Dutch Beauty is so lovely. Happy stitching!

ReplyDeleteThe chart is by Permian. Last time I looked, it was available through 123Stitch (no affiliation other than as an occasional customer). Just be advised, this thing is HUGE.
DeleteI really like the finish on that scarecrow. I know what you mean about summer decor! There is a large gap in holidays.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a holiday a month from late October to early July, then nothing for the rest of July, August and September. I'm not one for really intensive decorating, but I like to put something small together on the mantle.
DeleteYou will have to find some patterns depicting your favourite summer activities to fill in the holiday gap. For me, I would look for bicycles, picnics, gardening, and maybe some hiking. Your scarecrow stitching is very cute. I remember those 80’s colours too.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about maybe some beach themed pieces - there are some cute flamingo patterns. And some 'back to school' - maybe old fashioned looking and mounted on the 'hornbook' style frames. Lots of ideas - must keep stitching (like THAT's a chore LOL)
