sitch May-nia ?

For readers who are not cross stitchers, you may been thinking "she spelled 'mania' wrong!"  But May-nia is a thing in the cross stitch community.   It started several years ago in 2015 (link to fat quarter shop blog post that has the history) and has pretty much taken off.  This is the last "official" year sponsored by the original people, but there's buzz already about continuation next year 'unofficially'.

Some people start a new project every day in May - which gives me the shivers just thinking about it.   Some people work on a different project each day, but do a mix of WiPs (works in progress) and new starts.  Some people do "Sania" - work on an old project on the weekdays and do a new start each weekend.   That seems like a much more reasonable thing.

Also, Brenda and Laura (Brenda and the Serial Starter on YouTube) have a 'Blackbird weekend" SAL that starts next weekend and will continue on the first weekend of each month.  And I have a bunch of old Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers kits from the first couple of years of the LF club that I'd love to do.......  They have been languishing because they go in the 'vintage/historic inspired or reproduction' slot that is still taken up by Dutch Beauty.

I'm tempted, so tempted.  I can tell you that I will NOT be starting 31 projects in May, though!

My rotation works well for me, and I'd hate to torpedo it in a moment of sheer self indulgent start-itis!   But still, "stitch all the Blackbirds" LOL.
