Slow Sunday Stitching - September 21, 2025

Pretty good week this week.   I got several hours in on the Blackbird Designs project - "And to All a Good Night" (Loose Feathers #11).   I got the stars on the roof finished; I substituted Smyrna Cross for the Square Eyelets.   I think this one will be a wall quilt finish and I didn't want the center opening of the eyelet to show the quilt batting.  There's still a little difference in texture in the larger center star - it's enough.

Good start on the upper window area as well.  It's at 36% give or take (since the queen and smyrna stitches aren't counted) with 2222 of 6140 cross stitches completed.  I still have a couple of hours left on this project to get to ten hours in the current rotation, but I should be ready to do a changeover post later this week.   Also keeping up on the daily projects, though I do wish we were having more temperature variation for our high temps to make the Temperature Stitches Daily Log more interesting.

I forgot to show the cast on for the next charity hat last week, but this week, you can see it's about halfway to the crown decreases.  I just hope I have enough yarn; I get the feeling there will be yarn chicken.....

Linking up with the SSS crew (current roundup here).

    1. thanks! I have been fascinated by the fancy stitches since I took my first "Just Nan" project class in the mid 1990s. I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to take several classes, both online and in person that feature fancy stitches. If you want to learn, I highly recommend the Victoria Sampler smaller designs - excellent stitch diagrams. I think they may still have online classes as well.
