Slow Sunday Stitching - October 5, 2025

These months where the first falls midweek are strange.   I feel like I should have already reported on my daily projects since I've already put several days into them in the current month!   I'm just glad I remembered to take the pictures!

First up is the Daily Temperature Log using the "Temperature Stitches" pattern by Sarah "Stitching Mommy" on YouTube and Etsy.

September's stitch was the "Scotch Stitch" which is a diagonal variation of the Satin Stitch.  It's actually one of my favorite filling stitches for needlepoint and counted thread work.  I love the little pillow shapes and because it is worked in angles, it tends to cover better than the actual Satin Stitch which is either vertical or horizontal.

and a close up.   It's been a month of very little variation, summer is hanging on into a warm autumn!  I'm afraid this in going to be one of those years that dumps us into winter with very little of my favorite crisp fall, turning leaves sort of weather.

What the entire piece looks like now:

October's stitch is the Lazy Daisy.  Not my favorite when it's done counted thread style, though I love it on stamped surface embroidery.  You'll see that one next time.

The "Mead Dragon" is coming along!  See the September month end report for all the stats.

And I have put about half my hours for the rotation into the Just Nan "Butterflies, Blossoms and Bees".  I am about to start the four little over one bees!  Really looking forward to those.

A slightly 'artsy' shot to show off some of the dimensional stitches

Checking in with the SSS crew to see what everyone has been working on (link to the current round-up).
