Wow, just one week to Christmas Eve! I am feeling very much not in the Christmas spirit right now. I blame my "Grinch" on work. I just got assigned two more large projects. In a way, I understand - in the ramp up to my retirement, I've trained people and transitioned several responsibilities, so I'm available for new things. And the deadlines are very reasonable. But it's been several years since my responsibilities have included special projects and I need to get back into "Project Manager" mindset and fast.
Plus getting these assignments just before the holidays and when many of the people I need to consult with are on vacation - it's been a rough week, let's say. But I have a long weekend this weekend (I have a 'float' day that I need to take before the end of the year - so off on Monday), and the next couple of weeks will be short due to Christmas and New Years company holidays. So I don't think my boss is expecting a huge push on anything over the next couple of weeks.
January 2, though, all bets are off. Month end close, Quarter close, Annual close - ALL the reports!!!!! Hope I'm ready😆.)
Pretty good crafting lately though. I put in 10 hours on the Blackbird Designs "Two Hearts" needlebook.
As you can see, I got the entire palm done - up to the bases on all the fingers and the pinky and ring fingers completed with the middle finger started. Hopefully one more round of 10 hours in the new year will see this finished (if not, it will be VERY close).
Here's where I started for comparison
In knitting news, the second LOSY hat is done as well. Still not my favorite colors, still warm and cushy. I'm not embarrassed to donate it. And the yarn usage in this takes me over 1,000 yards, so meeting annual goal. 🙋
Next up in knitting is another charity hat. I have one full and two half balls of a sport weight Merino wool/bamboo blend. So soft. It will be a 'girly' hat in pale pink, pale blue and cream. Probably just simple stripes. The yarn is still downstairs in the bin, so I can't even show you a "potential materials' picture yet. Next week (and with progress, one hopes). And where am I on The List?

ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy time at work! What is your retirement date? Just think of all the stitching you will get done when you retire! Gail at the Cozy Quilter
ReplyDeleteYou've made a lot of progress on "Two Hearts". I think that is a very nice donation hat.
ReplyDeleteKnitting hats for donation is easy and satisfying. Work sounds busy, but I'm sure you will manage. Hurry on retirement, I'm sure you are thinking.
