Well, I got the rest of the statue fill in done this round and figured out the next step, including sorting a bunch of beads from the kit that came in mixed packets (rather like a Mill Hill ornament kit). All set up to start the borders next time this comes up in the rotation. The border will go in the area right above the double lines of basting (which is where the casing will go). This area of stitching will form a 'ruffle' around the top of the bag. The upper allowance above the top basting will fold in to cover the back of the stitching and protect it.

There are ten repeats of the border motif - three above the scene on each piece above and one on each quarter of the side panels. But I'm happy to be done with over one for the moment (there is still the personalization in the carriage door and clock face on the cityscape yet to go).
