Slow Sunday Stitching - June 8, 2025 AND Rotation #3, Slot #4 (Historic) Changeover

I made some good progress on the Blackbird Design piece "Blessings and Kind Wishes" this week.  I got the left side of the piece done except for the signature in the lower left corner and got well into the house.  This brings me to the Rotation Changeover point.  I'm going to continue the momentum on this piece, in the hope that I can finish it during Rotation #4, Slot #1.

Rotation #4 for 2025 looks to be shaking out like this:

  1.  "Temperature Stitches" Daily Log remains my top of the morning stitch with one specialty stitch each day.  June is Triple Rice Stitch which is very easy to count and is in a nice grid.  Bit of a relaxation after the more random and complex Rhodes Hearts last month!
  2. "Mead Dragon" remains in the Pictorial Slot with a daily goal of at least 100 stitches.   Continuing on with Andrew @TheRunnerStitcher #WIPintoshape challenge.   He's challenged his followers to stitch 10 stitches for every mile he runs working up to his next marathon.  Adding those stitches on to my daily goal.
  3. Historic/Vintage Slot Black Bird Designs "Blessings and Kind Wishes". I'd like to get this one finished by the end of June.  There's a BBD with a Christmas theme that I'd like to start for 'Christmas in July'.
  4. Not Counted Thread Slot is a new start.  The "Floral Tote Bag" begins.
  5. Modern Slot "Butterflies, Blossoms and Bees" by Just Nan.  Still working the outer border - butterflies this time around
  6. WIPGO (Finish and Frame Board) - Need to make this a focus at some point as I am falling behind.
I did get a finish this week, but it was in knitting.  The second "Goth LOSY (Leftover Sock Yarn) Hat" is done and ready to donate.

And I cast on the next charity hat - a worsted weight one this time.  The pattern is "Hurricane Hat" (link to the designer's blog for the pattern).  Worsted weight yarn goes fast; I'm already a couple of inches in.
I've used this pattern for charity knitting before, and I love the simple yet graphic spiral.

Linking up with the SSS crew - this week's round up.

  1. Always facinated by how CSers organize the work order of their projects. Your "slot" rotation is interesting. I'm still a newbie and trying hard not to hve enough projects for a WIPGO board but I think I'm failing miserably at this point, LOL! Love the finished knitted hat!
