Well, I'd hoped to have a finish to announce today on my travel project. I've put some non-travel time into the Heirloom Santa (Canine) this week, but I came up a little short. Just the third dog (a small spotted terrier type) to finish, and the cutting out and embellishing with the beard and hat tassel yet to do though. He can be my "Christmas in July" finish instead LOL.
I'm closing out my third round though my rotation this year with the Sugar Skull; it is ready to start the nose fill in. It's hard to see where the bone color ends, but there's two rows complete above the start of the nose outline. I am up to 60 hours on this project and have put in 11,477 stitches, with 3,074 during this rotation. That's the least I've done during a rotation this year - that slump in the middle of June didn't help my stats at all!
On the quilt front - I've got the inner border fabric cut and I'm machine sewing the long seams joining the inner and outer borders. I thought briefly about hand sewing them, but this project has languished enough! I will hand applique the miters though so I can precisely match the pattern. No photo though, long straight seams are boring.....
Linking up with the SSS crew (current roundup)
Looks like you've got a nice supply of fun projects to keep you busy!! The sugar skull stitchery is fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Heirloom Santa and his companions are adorable! Love the rich colors.
ReplyDeleteI often seem to work on totally disparate projects at once, too! The sugar skull looks good!
Santa and the dogs is lovely. I jump from project to project, knitting, stitchery, yet another knitting project! It all adds to the fun, doesn't it.
