UPDATED and FRAMED NEEDLEWORK: Denton Family Tree

I did the stitching on this several years ago and held on to it when there was some talk of JC and Angie having another child.  But that didn't happen, so I filled in the very top of the tree instead of leaving a blank area.  At this point, with Carl heading into High School next year and Alexis heading into middle school the year after next, I think they consider their family complete.

And here's what it looked like before the fill in c 2018

There was a bit of a scare when washing and blocking.  Since this had been abandoned before I repurposed it in 2018, it desperately needed a bath.  The fabric was yellowing and very dusty.  But the reds and dark browns ran when I washed it!  panic!!!!   But a quick google search indicated that several soak / rinse cycles in cold water would help, using color catchers at first.   And it worked!  It's still ever so slightly damp.   And I'm running out of time to get this framed up to gift.  But if I have too, I'll do the 'take the gift back to finish/frame it'.  We do that in my family LOL.

  1. What a wonderful Christmas gift! I may be putting a half finished gift under our tree too. I’ve just run out of time! Merry Christmas to you and your family. Gail at the Cozy Quilter
