Full Coverage February - Day 6

There was a good sized swath of DMC 939 and 310 that took me all the way over to the right upper corner!  So this is how wide the piece will be.  Stitch count is 270 W x 350 H.   But it will be a while before we see the bottom corners!  (I was so chuffed when I landed exactly on my basted mark!  It helps that the stitch count is a multiple of 10 and so is the grid!)

259 stitches today, total on project is 1,392 and I'm at 1.47%

Next goal is to complete the fill in on the top row working typewriter style cross country.  This technique picks the uppermost, leftmost unworked stitch and works that color across to the right and down until you run out of thread or there's no stitch in that color within reasonable distance (for me that's about a half inch - or a grid square).

On full coverage projects, I do not care AT ALL what the back looks like.  There will be floss build up and ends running all over the place.   I just try to keep floats to under a half inch, running under nearby completed stitches as needed. When working over one, I like to put more thread on the back than I usually do when working over two.  Diagonals on the back help with the tension and keep your working thread from sliding under the fabric threads so much, and give you a place to comfortably anchor stitches without distorting the front of the work.
