FINISHED NEEDLEWORK: "Blessings and Kind Wishes" by Blackbird Designs / FINISHED SEWING PROJECT: Zipper Project Bag

 


Pattern: "Blessings & Kind Wishes" Loose Feathers #31

Designer: Blackbird Designs

Fabric: 36 count "Legacy" linen by Picture This Plus

Threads:  Crescent Colors / Classic Colorworks, Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts overdyed flosses as charted (except subbed 'Wild Oats' in place of 'Khaki Mocha')
 
Stitches:  one over two and one over one full cross, eyelets, Smyrna cross, outline (added to stork's necks and house edges)
 
Started 10/30/2024, needlework completed 7/16/2025


Finished as a project bag 12/2025, using the tutorial by elizabethanncanstitch (link to YouTube tutorial)

Outer fabric: "New England - Paisley Cream" by Wilmingtononprints.com
Lining fabric: "Stonehenge - Windswept" by L Lucovico for Northcott
Notes:  instead of having to cut down the front panel, from now on, I'll wait to cut the back pieces until I have a finished size on the front that accommodates the needlework AND matching margins.  But it's done and it serviceable.

      I am going to make it up as a project bag and probably gift it in the future. It was a fun stitch and I love the phrase, too.
