Next to the last band! Of course the last one is another big 'focus' band, so it's going to take a while.
This band, on the other hand, went quick. It's drawn thread work again. No embellishments.
All of the lacy effect is simply using the working thread (#12 perle cotton in this case) to distort the ground threads by pulling it extra tight. I can totally imagine one of our foremothers pulling a thread too tight, looking at the resulting 'hole' in the ground fabric and thinking "I could make a pattern like this....".
