New Years Goals for 2020

I always set some broad goals for my crafting at the start of the New Year.  I can't find (or remember) last year's goals, so this time I'm posting them on my blog so I can find them next year this time and also - accountability!

Overall, do not grow the stash - buy only to finish things and DO NOT start any more quilts - a dozen UFOs is enough, right?

Continue the current rotation for Needlework (four ten hour slots - historic/vintage, pictorial, modern, finish/frame); it's been working well for me for several years.

Spend more time on quilting.  This is an ongoing issue.  The needlework and knitting get a consistent 15 to 30 minutes a day during the work week, but I seldom sit down at my machine during the week.

Needlework:
  1. Finish the Victoria Sampler "Four Elements" series - "Fresh Air" in yellows
  2. Dutch Beauty - on the bottom third of this large reproduction sampler - border outline, page 15/O and 21/U
  3. Continue progress on Teresa Wentzler "Millennium" (40 hrs in Rotation #1, #2, #3, #4) plus an additional 6.75 hours of beading to get to a FINISH
  4. Complete at least three things from the "finish and frame" pile - St Sylvestre - professional framers Drawn Thread "It's Halloween", get "Celtic Christmas" re-framed
ETA Additional Needlework goals
     5.  Finish stitching on the Sharon Cohen Sampler Sweetbag. and assemble sweetbag and fob
     6. New start in the "modern sampler" slot - Elizabeth Designs "Garden Delights"
Knitting:
  1. Finish "Rosemarkie Waistcoat" - last two inches of upper bodice, steeks (cutting the opening for the arms and neck/front) and ribbings/buttons/facings
  2. Assemble the "Hexipuff Cushion".
  3. Knit two pairs of work appropriate socks - plain grey and black variegated
Quilting:
  1. Get a design wall set up somehow, somewhere.  I really, really need it
  2.  "Aunt Lottie's Garden" top completed (blocks are done, borders need to be appliqued)
  3. Finish "It was the 80s" (will be LAQ)
  4. "Fox and Geese" - baste for hand quilting and get started on it. (need to find the longer rails for my quilting frame, so will probably do it in the hoop)
  5. "Lucy Boston" - at least a table topper to flimsy by the fall for guild university - Block #9 of 9 in progress
I actually like this line up, I'm at the point on some of the bigger or more complex projects where I can see that the progress over the last year or so has made an impact.  Funny how that works - when you actually work on things, they get done LOL.

Focusing on Needlework, though.  Once I get Fresh Air done, I am OUT of modern projects in UFO pile!!!  It is going to be fun to choose something from the stash.
