Quasi Goldwork in this band. It's just Kreinik Cable Cord, but the technique for plunging and couching is the same as with true goldwork. I keep telling myself that I will do the real thing one of these days.
Thank you. Doing goldwork always give me a bit of glee. When I was going to EGA (Embroiderers Guild)work with metal threads was always held up as the pinnacle of the embroiderer's art. And I've discovered that it isn't all THAT hard. Rather like tackling a Baltimore Album. Expensive and delicate work, but it's all one stitch at a time.
