The odd corner on the Sock Yarn Blanket

As I work my way around the edging of the Sock Yarn Blanket doing yard after yard of four stitch I-Cord Edge, I have found myself at the "odd" corner.   All the other corners are neat miters where I can do a corner miter on the I Cord and just carry on.

But this is where I ended the regular rounds. I brought the work up to the last row just where it would be starting another miter and then just bound it off.   This created a reasonably square corner.

The issue comes with the two inches of bind off.   All the rest of the way around the blanket, I used a slip stitch edge.   That makes a nice edge to pick up the next round on, but it has one edge loop for every two rows.   That's perfect for both attaching every other row and making 45 degree mitered corners.   It's a peculiarity of garter stitch that two rows (one out, one back) is the exact height of one stitch.  It's what makes garter stitch lie perfectly flat, too.

BUT that little bit of bind off has one loop for EVERY stitch, not every other stitch.   So I'm going to have to be extra careful and skip the odd stitches.

ETA:

Success!  Second time was a charm.   First I tried every other stitch, but that pulled in and was just too tight compared to the rest of the border.   Every stitch would have been too loose.  2 of 3 was "Goldilocks" - just right.   The new section of the border over the old bind off is very close in stretch to the rest of the border.   The exact corner may not be quite as pointy as the other three, but blocking will help that.  On to side 4!
