I have my swatch, I have my numbers. Time to cast on!
Now the percentage system I discussed in the last post can apply to sweaters knit from either the top down or the bottom up. I've done both types. I find the bottom up keeps my interest better, top down has all the interesting bits right at the start. And bottom up style stays portable and a travel project for much longer since you work the body and the two sleeves separately to the underarm and then join them for the yoke.
BUT, I like the way that sleeves are shaped top down better. Decreases look better to my eye than increases. So I'm working the sleeves top down and the body and yoke bottom up! You can do that in stockinette stitch, which this sweater is.
