Slow Sunday Stitching - November 12, 2023

First of all, a salute to all Veterans! and military families, too.   Your sacrifices bought our freedoms and should be honored.   Here's how my personal favorite veteran spent his day yesterday LOL.   My son, JC, working as staff at Alexis' first meet of the season - here spotting his daughter. My phone camera isn't up to catching her in 'mid-flight' with the 'zoom in' setting on.  She did very well, won all round for her age/skill level (first in three of the four events and second in the last event),

It was a long day in a venue that wasn't good for stitching, even on a travel project.  Plus Carl has a wrestling meet this coming Tuesday (ditto on the bad lighting and minimal space).   I cast on an emergency hat earlier this week so I had something to work on while watching both events.   I am used to this from the days when JC was in high school - many hours of watching and cheering for other people's kids to get to the four minutes you're actually interested in when it's YOUR kid 😁😁.

My usual charity hat - the LOSY hat (LeftOver Sock Yarn) this time in various pale blue, brown and cream sock yarn for one strand and a fuzzy blue lace weight acrylic yarn for the second strand.

I did get several more hours in on the OctToOct SAL this week.  The November section is nearing completion.  I need to fill in the eyes on the owl and the leaves on the little autumn tree.  I also plan to do the next picket to the right and the rest of the snowdrops at it's base in order to get a bit of a 'jump' on December.  Because Holiday....... and the necessity of finishing the upper border before I can move on to the January section in the new year.  I'm going to work on getting rid of the 'zombie' look on the owl this morning!  Those little leaves are basically confetti stitching, but are so colorful !

Due to the unexpected invitation to Alexis' gymnastics thing, I haven't put in any time on the Sugar Skull yet this week.  I will report on that one next week.

Linking up with the SSC crew (current roundup).   They keep me motivated and accountable.
