Slow Sunday Stitching - January 7, 2024

Hope everyone is getting back into their routines after the holiday.   It's been snowy here - the 'white Christmas' showed up late LOL.

And wintry stitching has been the name of the game over here as well.   The January section of the Jardin Prive piece is well underway.   But there's still quite a bit to do - the birdhouse and bird, the rest of the second picket and a hyacinth between the post and picket, plus a little bit of backstitching.  But there is snow and snowflakes and a cute 'feather tree' in this section.  I've been really enjoying all the little motifs.

On Friday, I managed to put in the pink in the second eye on the Sugar Skull.  SO close, just the three shades of green in the eyeballs left to go!  Once I finish the SAL section, this will be a 'push to finish'.

And yesterday, I had an appointment to have my car worked on, so the travel project on perforated paper came out to play.   It's a race to the finish between Santa and the Skull.   (That sounds like a very bad B movie from the 1950s 😝😝).  I think the skull will win, though.

And I promised a hat picture.  About 2 inches of pink before I start the crown decreases.  This hat can be worn as a 'slouchy toque' or with a rolled up 'watchcap' brim.  The 2 x 2 ribbing makes the body of the hat look very skinny, but it fits me (snugly) - so teen or small adult sized.

All in all, it's been a very productive week!   Linking up with the SSS crew (current round up).

  1. The stitching on the lovely skull is coming along wonderfully and as for your knitted hat, love those yarn colours. They are so pretty.

  3. I’m not sure I would want to see that movie! I’m enjoying seeing the stitch along each month. The skull is so close to a finish. Your take along santa project is perfect for “waiting”. Gail at the Cozy Quilter

  7. Is Jardin Prive a yearlong piece? Looks like it will be something beautiful and detailed. The Sugar Skull is almost there - that is an amazing piece!

    1. It's a single pattern, but a bunch of us are doing it as a year long SAL #octtoctSAL
