FINISHED NEEDLEWORK: Set of Vintage Cutwork Napkins

Set of 8 cutwork napkins inherited from my mother.  She stitched 6 and a partial, I finished that one, and did the un-started one (mine are in the upper right of the photo).  Have a tea cloth to match in the "to do" stash.

Designer/Manufacturer Unknown.  Marked in selvage "No S227 Napkin 15 x 15 Pure Linen" (art deco / craftsman draftsman font)

Fabric: Vintage rustic heavy linen - about 36 threads per inch, but much, much heavier and more closely woven than equivalent thread count fabric for counted thread work

Thread:  DMC Perle Cotton Size 8 / color 613

Stitches:  Buttonhole / Blanket Stitch, Stem Stitch, French Knots

Marking in selvage

eta: had this post ready to go Friday and forgot to actually upload it until Saturday afternoon.  Back dated.

    1. Honestly, it's very easy. The only bits that elevate it into 'expert needlewoman' territory is the actual cutting, and this type of project with only four reasonably large cutout areas is the easiest type. Just need a good pair of scissors that have very sharp and pointy tips where the blade cuts crisply all the way to the points. Good thing I enjoy it - there's another large dresser scarf and a table topper coming up in this slot in and around the needlepoint and crewel.
