I wanted to have this post be all about the progress on the crewel eagle, but alas, I've only put in an hour so far this round. So that will be next week's post (hopefully).
Yesterday was supposed to be a good stitching day, but a quick oil change ended up be an oil change plus the replacement of transmission fluid lines (better than replacing a transmission!!). Luckily I had my travel bag. I finished off the next section of my book club book and then leisurely stitched for a while on the next Heirloom Santa ornament. This one has a horse.
This is what it will look like:
This week also saw some progress on the brown sweater. I'm up over the waist shaping; it's subtle, but you can see on the sides of the markers where six stitches disappear over three inches in depth. Next for sure check in will be the start of the bust shaping (I may take a picture or two of the in between, but no promises).
The large bottom marker is in the last round of the ribbing, and the small brass safety pin markers are every 10 rounds after that. Nice easy mindless knitting for the next few inches.
Checking in with the SSS crew (link to current round up).
Knitting is rarely mindless for me. I love the Heirloom Santa that you are working on.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater looks cozy! Enjoy your stitching!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with easy mindless knitting, as long as you dont keep going too long then have to unravel it, that's happened to me before!
ReplyDeleteFor Sure! That's why I put a brass safety pin in every 10 rounds. I know where to stop and put in on a long cable to try it on again. Don't want to overshoot the mark!
