BoM Challenge Update for January, 2018

Jo's Country Junction is hosting a "Block of the Month" challenge to finish up unfinished sampler type quilts.  (Link is to this month's progress report and link party.)  Some people are doing a classic pace of 'one block a month', Jo herself is doing TWO Civil War Tribute quilts - some months having as many as 8 blocks to do for that month.

"It was the 80s" falls on Jo's end of the spectrum, with a block a week.   At least I'm in good company!

So far I have Block 1-6 done with Block 7 underway this week.
It's definitely looking like a scrappy blue and white quilt with rose pink accents so far!  I need to be sure to use more of the creamy tan neutrals in future blocks.

Here are the details of the blocks to date:

Intro
Materials
Block 1 - churndash*
Block 2 - night into day star*
Block 3 - half log cabin*
Block 4 - zig zag rail fence*
Block 5 - drunkard's path
Block 6 - pinwheel rail fence
Pattern is Pat Sloan's "Solstice" with the starred blocks and the layout from her pattern.  Un-starred blocks are from the original quilt top and will be substituted for Pat's blocks in the final layout.
